Direct School Admission to JC Programme for Sec 4 Students

The Direct School Admission–NJC (DSA–NJC) is an annual exercise administered by our College. It allows students with special talents and achievements to apply to our College directly. The DSA–NJC Exercise usually takes place from May to July. Students who are successful are guaranteed a place provided they meet the eligibility criteria for admission to a JC based on their GCE O Level results. Students admitted under DSA–NJC will not take part in the Joint Admission Exercise in 2015.

The DSA–NJC Exercise 2014 will open on 5 May 2014, Monday and close on 23 May 2014, Friday, 5pm..


All Secondary Four students who possess excellent academic track records and special talent in Science Research, Art, Music or Co-Curricular Activities may apply through the following categories.

Science Research Category (SR)

  • International and/or national achievements in Science Research
  • Excellent primary and secondary school academic track records

Art Excellence Category (ArE)

  • Excellent in Art and offers Art as an ‘O’ Level subject
  • Excellent primary and secondary school academic track records
  • Must offer H2 and H3 Art at ‘A’ Level Exam

Music Excellence Category (MuE)

  • Excellent in Music and offers Music as an ‘O’ Level subject
  • Excellent primary and secondary school academic track records
  • Must offer H2 Music at ‘A’ Level Exam

CCA Excellence Category (CCA)

  • Special talents and exemplary achievements in Sports and Games or Aesthetics at national and/or international level
  • Excellent primary and secondary school academic track records
Selection Process

Applicants go through the following selection phases:

Phase I:          Auditions / Trials / Portfolio Reviews
Applicants who apply may be invited by the respective teachers-in-charge to attend a portfolio review session / audition / trial.

Phase II:         Interview
Only applicants who successfully cleared the previous selection phase will be notified via email to attend an interview with the Principal, Vice-Principals and/or the Dean/Senior High. These applicants will be notified of the interview date and time by 6 June 2014. Upon receipt of the email notification to attend an interview, applicants are required to mail in the corresponding supporting documents, e.g. certified true copies of testimonials, CCA and VIA reports, examination results or any other relevant documents for fields that are marked with "#", by 25 June 2014.  

The interviews will be conducted in July 2014.


Offer of Places
Applicants will be notified (by post) of the result of their interview by 29 July 2014. Successful applicants will be offered a place in NJC for the academic year 2015/16.
